From traditional woodcarving and architectural elements to chairs, tables, and case pieces, Daniel Faia strives to produce the antiques of tomorrow. Every fine woodworking project is created individually to the client's specifications. There is focused attention to detail on each piece, one at a time, so that the process is held to the highest standards. The custom furniture is built using traditional joinery methods, hand-picked and matched lumber, period specific hardware (if applicable), and hand-applied natural finishes.
The first step in the commission process is a conversation between the client and Dan to discuss the proposed project ideas. This is generally initiated by email, but can also include a phone call or shop visit. Dan will provide guidance, as needed, to ensure that the project ideas incorporate necessary structural considerations and appropriate materials and joinery methods.
Next, Dan will develop a preliminary proposal with design, material, and pricing options for the client to review. It is at this stage where adjustments and modifications can be made to best suit the needs of the client. A design fee may apply, depending on the scope of the proposed project.
Once the client accepts the proposal, Dan will formulate a written project agreement. This will encompass the project details, specifications, terms, and payment schedule. Signatures on the agreement, along with the client’s deposit payment, are required to confirm and move forward with the project.
Commissions are scheduled and completed in the order in which they are confirmed.
