The Studio

Dan’s studio (effective January 1, 2026) is a large, bright, ground-level unit (accessible from a few steps or a ramp adjacent to the parking lot) located in the historic 

Garvin Mercantile Building in Sanbornville, NH. 


The space has hardwood floors, lots of natural light, a private restroom, a sharpening station with sink, and individual student workbenches. Sanbornville, one of the six “villages of Wakefield, NH”, is a beautiful, rural town in the Lower Lakes Region on the eastern side of the state.


It’s approximately 1 ¾ hours from Boston, MA and 1 ¼ hours from Manchester, NH; about an hour from Concord, NH and Portland, ME; about 40 minutes from Portsmouth, NH and Conway, NH; about 30 minutes from downtown Dover, NH; and about 20 minutes from Rochester, NH and Wolfeboro, NH. 


In addition to ample parking, there are several local dining options within a short walk or drive from the studio. For students who travel a distance, there are also many lodging options in the surrounding area(s).

Frequently Asked Questions

Prospective students must first review all policies, and then email Dan at dcfwoodcarver@gmail.com if they are interested in registering for a workshop. The email inquiry should include the title and scheduled date(s) of the requested workshop. If space is available, Dan will send a follow-up email with a registration form, payment instructions, and tool list. If space is not available, a waiting list is optional. If prospective students don't receive a response from Dan within 24 hours, they should follow up to make sure that he received their request. A registration is not confirmed until the completed/signed workshop program registration form and check payment (payable to Daniel Faia) have been received and processed. 


Electronic payment methods, such as credit cards, debit cards, Venmo, and Zelle, are not accepted.

Students are solely responsible for coordinating/transporting/shipping their projects upon workshop completion, and must plan accordingly in advance by contacting the shipping center directly for hours of operation, service options/fees, and specific instructions.
