Bombe Chest of Drawers (photo by: Thomas McKenna- Fine Woodworking)

    Traditional Woodcarving and Custom Furniture

From traditional woodcarving and architectural detail to period chairs, tables, and case pieces, Daniel Faia strives to produce the antiques of tomorrow. Every fine woodworking project is created individually to the client's specifications. There is focused attention to detail on each piece, one at a time, so that the process is held to the highest standards. Commissions are completed in the order in which they are received. The custom furniture is built using traditional joinery methods, hand-picked and matched lumber, period specific hardware, and hand-applied natural finishes.

Please contact Dan if you would like to discuss a commission, or if you have  comments or questions about anything you see in the gallery. Items for sale listed below are available for in-person purchase (cash/check, as applicable) at Dan's shop.

20-pocket duck canvas carving tool roll with Silvertex lining

    Carving Tool Roll

Proper care and maintenance of carving tools is essential. Over the years, Dan has used many styles of tool rolls to store his carving tools. There was always something missing or problematic with the designs, so about 10 years ago, Dan decided to come up with what he hoped was a better solution. He wanted a tool roll that would protect the cutting edges, keep tools from sliding out, and minimize moisture issues. Dan and his wife, Andrea worked on many prototypes along the way. The final product has met all expectations. The tool roll can hold up to 20 standard-size carving chisels and is made of durable duck canvas with a Silvertex protective lining. Tools are held safely in place with side wings to cover the cutting edges and an end flap to enclose the roll. Finally, the roll is secured with attached cotton webbing and D-rings. They are hand-made in small batches, so inventory will vary.

    Price: $40.00
